Do you remember a time when you had to think which was your left and right?
I did not think this concept was at all difficult until today I had to teach Year 1 students direction. Funniest class I have taken all prac. After lying on the floor and playing Dancing Bears I was totally frustrated that some students knew what was their right arm but did not connect that the right leg would be on the same side. Was so much fun???
Ahh ! the simple things in life.
Like Cassandra I have gained a great insight how to link learning, curriculum and assessment and thanks to these little munchkins will not have to consciously think about my left and right again for quite a while.
